How many women had elective breast augmentation surgery in 2007? The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery reported over 400,000 breast augmentation surgeries were performed in 2007. You have a remarkable 3 percent re-operation rate versus a national rate of 25 percent. Why? It begins with education of the patient and communication between patient and surgeon to reconcile reality with desires. Unfortunately, some patients continue to treat cosmetic surgery like buying a dress. They see an ad or hear of the latest and greatest technique and, without doing their homework, they sign up for cosmetic surgical procedures that may not always be in their best interests. Nothing is more important than thoroughly educating yourself about the procedure you want—seeking detailed, in-depth information and carefully choosing a surgeon based on his or her credentials. What questions should a woman ask her surgeon when considering this procedure? There are so many questions each patient should ask. We have tried to carefully list the most important ones in our tear out cards in the back of the book—so that potential patients will have a checklist they can take with them when interviewing surgeons. High and Extra High Projection Implants: Happy Story with a Twist and Sad Ending
It's a simple story, but with a sad twist. Certain patients want more projecting breast--forward thrusting, perky, "lifted", or even Dagmar-like (definition: missile or artillery shell-like, named after a famous cleavage, and used for the design of front bumper grill decorations in 50's cars. What patients want, surgeons historically provide. Simple demand and supply, but in this case, a story with a twist.
Inventing The First Form Stable Breast Implant - THE BIRTH OF THE STYLE 410 “GUMMY BEAR”
No saline implant has ever been able to match the durability and device failure rates of the Style 410 cohesive gel implant. Saline filled implants have an inherently higher failure rate compared to silicone gel filled implants. |
